NHL 12 Glitch
So I’ve been fairly busy the past little while working on a number of different projects including one to raise money for charity. This month I’ll be participating in Extra Life, a 24-hour video game marathon to raise money for sick children around North America. So far my team and I have raised nearly $2000. Last year we got to $3000 the day of and were pretty happy with that number. We didn’t think we’d get back there this year due to some complications, but so far we’re doing great!
A scene from Back to the Future re-done with an all A Capella soundtrack = awesome
A friend of mine was talking to me about some of his favorite TV moments the other day and it got me thinking about my own. There are many shows I love, watch and share with people for many different reasons. I enjoy comedies (Community, Louie, 30 Rock), dramas (Mad Men, The Wire, Deadwood) and everything in between (Carnivale, Breaking Bad, Dexter). But there’s one thing about shows that resonate with me on a deeper level than most elements and that is a character who defies the rules, looks his enemy in the eye and then kicks him in the balls without blinking. So here for you now are just some of my favorite moments in TV badassery.
Jack Bauer killing his enemy using the only gift God gave him: legs stronger than the mighty oak.
CNN is racist and I have proof!
I found this video so awesome I thought it deserved its own post. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do as we share a community face-palm.
A video game in a box!
So I haven’t been blogging lately. The problem is mainly that I find myself starting articles on things I find relevant at the time, then I get distracted or I’m unable to finish the post due to other issues and when I come back to it I feel the time has passed. I’m going to try fixing that this month and post more often. I also need to figure out how to archive stuff in Tasty Links since it’s clearly swamped with Youtube embeds. I’m gonna get on that at some point. Perhaps I should change my Blog title to JoshIsALazyBlogger instead.
Anyway, in the meantime I’m going to post the good stuff I find here instead. I’ve got some really great sketch comedy for you to check out starting with one by Uncalled For, a Montreal sketch group that I’ve been friends with for as long as they’ve been around (about 10 years I believe). They recently started posting videos on Youtube and they’re not getting nearly as much attention as they should. Case in point:
Let’s face it, hardcore George R. R. Martin fans (as well as the man himself) may secretly long in their heart of hearts for the world to refer to the series as A Song of Ice and Fire and may relish those rare opportunities to put on their best comic book guy voices when they hear someone refer to it as the ‘Game of Thrones’ series/books in order to correct them with an “ *ahem* actually Game of Thrones is merely the first book. The series to which you refer is known as A Song of Ice and Fire, tee hee!” However, that will never happen. Marketing wizards put the nail in that coffin over a decade ago with the release of the first Game of Thrones merchandise.
I think the Starks got the only cool family motto. The Lannister words sound more like something you might hear at a gay-stereotype rally. EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm talking about "hear me roar" and not "A Lannister always pays his debts." 😀
